How to protect your mental health during the coronavirus pandemic
We’re all living through a strange and unique time. As the lockdown of the UK continues amid COVID-19, it’s important not only to look after your physical health but your mental health too. Here’s our top tips for protecting yourself.
Ration your news consumption. We were all glued to the screen when the pandemic took hold, but watching the news too much or reading stories online can have a detrimental effect. Limit the number of times you check the news and read a good book during down time.
Keep social media in check. Social media is great for keeping in touch with family and friends, but it can also be a hub of fake news and conspiracy theories – check that information you find on social media comes from a trustworthy source before you click and take breaks from social media when you need to.
Make time just for you. It’s harder to avoid burnout when working from home, with the boundaries between work and home suddenly blurred. Find ways to take time just for yourself whilst at home doing your favourite things, and try to eat well and exercise regularly.
From all at Flexistaff, we wish you and your family stay safe and well.
